About me

Throughout a career spanning over 13 years, I’ve been a design leader at Disney, Cameo, BuzzFeed, eBay, and The Weather Channel.

I’m currently the co-founder and Head of Design at Sandstone, a venture studio and digital agency specializing in product management, product design, user interface design, user experience design, full-stack development, user testing, user research, and marketing. Sandstone has clients in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and New York who range from established brands like Google to early-stage startups in industries as diverse as film, music, fashion, sports, real estate, and finance.

Previously, I led the design of Movies Anywhere, a joint business endeavor of Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Studios, and Warner Brothers Entertainment plus retailer partnerships with Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Vudu, Comcast, Verizon, and DirecTV.  Movies Anywhere has over 12 million active users across web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Roku and is the new industry-wide standard for digital movie ownership.

  • Grew the agency to over 40 clients, including Google and startups across e-commerce, entertainment, social media, finance, healthcare, Web3, AI/ML, and more.

  • Directed product design, visual design, and big-picture strategy.

Cameo

2023

Lead Product Designer

  • Redesigned homepage and discovery experiences with personalization, enhanced education, search and filtering, scalable components, AI-driven SEO blurbs and taxonomy improvements, and curated browsing.

  • Redesigned profile page with a simplified product set due to changing business needs. Redesigned reviews, customer education, added data-driven insights, persistent CTAs, and segmented pathing.

  • Reduced friction by designing saved payment method functionality for repeat purchases and subscriptions for recurring revenue models and implemented passwordless authentication in sign-up and log-in flows, increasing account creation by 51% and reducing customer service requests.

  • Led design of important consumer surfaces including Cameo Kids with virtual AI characters, inbox for web with added audio and video messages, tips, reviews, and status updates, booking form to match new design language, improve UX, implement Stripe Link, and iterate based on data from Eppo and Looker.

  • Redesigned Cameo for Business profile page with dataviz and social metrics powered by Captiv8, improved browsing and filtering experience for B2B and B2C users.

  • Updated design system with new design language, scalable Figma components, variables, auto-layout, and design tokens. Defined new grid system for all consumer-facing products.

  • Collaborated closely with engineering, product, marketing, data science, and leadership teams, to impact company-wide product roadmap planning.

  • Provided mentorship to designers, ran design crits, workshops, design sprints and implemented team process improvements.

Senior Product Designer

2021 to 2023

  • Led a comprehensive redesign of Cameo’s profile page, the largest redesign ever on our biggest source of landing traffic, resulting in a 7.8% increase in purchase conversion rates, adding over $3M in annual revenue.

  • Worked horizontally across all teams at Cameo to ensure alignment on a scalable, modular system of cards to support various product offerings and worked closely with engineering on implementation details.

  • Integrated merchandise into profile pages following Cameo’s acquisition of Represent..

  • Designed creator tools and improved request fulfillment tools for talent on the platform.

  • Audited and redesigned multiple inconsistent video player experiences into one cohesive, accessibility- friendly experience across all platforms to enhance engagement and retention.


Walt Disney Studios

Lead Product Designer

2020 to 2021

  • Worked closely with legal and engineering teams to design complex Video Privacy Protection Act flows, which were critical for the usability of the Movies Anywhere experience. Optimized through rounds of QA under various conditions, resulting in 90%+ of active users completing the flow seamlessly.

  • Designed Watch Together: the first fully cross-platform synced movie co-viewing experience. Provided guidance to Disney+ team as they built a similar feature. Worked closely with product, engineering, copywriters, marketing, legal, and studio partners to meet aggressive launch goals.

  • Developed a comprehensive design system from the ground up, improving design consistency and efficiency and enhancing engineering velocity. Audited styles, created components and templates that adhered to ADA and WCAG guidelines for accessibility, and evangelized the design system to stakeholders by running workshops and presentations.

  • Worked horizontally across multiple orgs to design a Braze-powered end-to-end user communication system, including a notification center, toasts, tooltips, content cards, and communication preferences, and writing comprehensive usage guidelines.

Senior Product Designer

2016 to 2018

  • Launched Movies Anywhere: the first multi-studio, multi-retailer standard for digital movie ownership by collaborating directly with executive stakeholders from Disney, Fox, Sony, WB, and Universal, and worked closely with teams at Apple, Google, and Amazon to ensure seamless integration.

  • Led design on sign up and log-in flows, conducted user testing with high-fidelity prototypes in Invision, Axure, Principle, Marvel, and Atomic, achieving a 77% completion rate, resulting in 150 million movies added to lockers, 16 million hours of movies streamed, and 6 million new user accounts.

  • Fostered collaboration and created alignment between engineering, product, marketing, legal teams, and external studio and retailer stakeholders.

  • Redesigned internal video ingestion tools, addressing bottlenecks in the QA process.


BuzzFeed

2014 to 2016

Product Designer

  • Transformed manual account manager processes into a self-service tool, integrating data visualization, metrics, and video campaign performance data for B2B and B2C users.

  • Led design of internal tools including video dashboard for producers with social traffic and engagement stats, insights, leaderboards, custom metrics, data consolidation from multiple sources, a chrome extension to increase adoption, video assignment, attribution, ingestion, and syndication tools.


eBay

Senior Designer

2013 to 2014

  • Led design efforts for the Magento 2 e-commerce platform by simplifying complex information architecture and user flows for sales, products, orders, and catalogs, created complex Axure prototypes.


The Weather Channel

2011 to 2013

UI/UX Designer

  • Led iOS mobile app design, incorporated new branding, 15-minute forecast rain tracker, audio RSS feed, and video feed, became 7th most downloaded iOS app of all time.

  • Designed for Android, Windows Phone, wearables, Toyota’s in-car dashboards, and 10-foot experiences, including XBOX app, smart TV apps, and set-top box apps.

  • Designed TV show landing pages and implemented pages via HTML & CSS.
